Hello fellow Weatherfun members and welcome to the July Weatherfun newsletter. I hope all of you are enjoying a great summer and the weather in your back yard has been a perfect Jerry 12. It has been warm here at Weatherfun Headquarters, and you all know how much I love that. So, far the hurricane season has been fairly inactive, but as you all know the most active part of the hurricane season is still well ahead of us. Tornados as you know still prove to be very serious and many of our members have suffered personal injury and loss of property from these severe storms. If you are in an area where severe weather is approaching please take all precautions, and do what the authorities tell you to do. The big news this month is the up coming 4th Weatherfun Family Reunion that will be held in and around the Warren, Rhode Island area July 14th to the 17th. Plans are continuing at this hour for the best reunion yet. We have members coming from Texas, Florida, Maryland, New York (Long Island), Massachusetts, and of course Rhode Island. As I type this newsletter we still have room at the Quality Motor Inn, but the rooms are filling up fast, so if you are even thinking of heading up this way, why not make your reservations now. Professor Bill is putting the finishing touches on his now famous Weather Quiz. Lynn, is also working on this year's prizes. Susan is working on the Weather Food Menu, and I am getting the Weatherfun Deck ready. Decorations and special lights are going up, and we are ready at this end folks. So, as the man on TV say: Come on down to Rhode Island for a grand time. Enjoy your summer, but please remember to be safe and keep an eye to the sky.

June's Weather 1st: Parts of Texas has severe storms with hail and tornadoes. Florida had over 4 inches of rain in some areas with even a tornado. 3rd: Severe weather in Colorado with flooding rains, damaging winds and several tornadoes. 4th: Severe storms from Texas north to Illinois with heavy rain, hail and a number of tornadoes. Several inches of snow in the mountains of Wyoming. 7th: Severe storms from the Dakotas to Wisconsin with several tornadoes. 8th: Severe weather in the Plains with heavy rain, hail and tornadoes. TD #1 formed and became Tropical Storm Arlene. 10th: More severe weather in the Plains with severe thunderstorms, hail and tornadoes. 11th: TS Arlene comes ashore just west of Pensacola, FL with heavy rains and winds gusting to over 60 mph. More severe weather in the Plains with numerous tornadoes. 12th: Once again severe weather from Texas to the upper Plains with heavy rain, hail and tornadoes. Also severe weather in the Midwest due to the remants of Arlene with heavy rain and several tornadoes. 14th: Very hot weather from the mid-Atlantic to southern New England. Several record Highs set. 15th: Severe storms from eastern Texas to Kansas with hail and a few tornadoes. Power outage just outside of Houston was caused by the storms. 16th: Severe storms in Kansas and Oklahoma with damaging winds, hail and several tornadoes. 20th: Severe storms in the upper Plains with a number of tornadoes. 21st: Southern Florida continues to get heavy rains. Over 12" so far this month. 22nd: Strong to severe storms in NE New Jersey to New York City, while the heat goes on from Texas to North Dakota. 24th: Some severe storms in the upper Plains with damaging winds, hail and a few tornadoes. Meanwhile the heat goes on from Texas to almost the Canadian border. 26th-27th: Severe weather with tornadoes in the Upper Plains. 28th: Tropical Storm Bret forms near Mexico and comes ashore with winds close to 40 mph and heavy rain. 29th: Severe storms from the Dakotas to Minnesota to Iowa with several tornadoes. 29th: Heavy rain continues in most of Florida with many cities setting daily and monthly records. Much of Texas and parts of Oklahoma had temperatures of 100 or more.
