Welcome to the August issue of the Weatherfun Newsletter and Jerry's words. It has been a very long hot and humid summer here in Warren. Yes, I guess you could say that it has been a Jerry kind of summer.
Well, the big news is that the 2008 FAMILY REUNION is now history. It was a great reunion and everyone who attended had a great time. Good areas to visit, good weather stories, and good food. We had a great night at Tony and Shirley's that we all enjoyed very much. Thanks Tony and Shirley for putting on a grand event.
Bill wore many different hats at this year's reunion. First as reverend Bill at Colt State Park, Colombo where you know who he drilled, and auctioneer Bill. Bill and his assistant Vanna aka snow lady did a great job on this year's auction, using Pa money. As you know this year's reunion was dedicated to the memory of Pa, who was a great Weatherfun supported, and he had his picture on all of the money used at this year's auction. Many great prizes were auctioned off that Lynn did a great job in getting our vendors to donate. Bill and Lynn, you both did a great job and thank you both for making this year's auction such a great success.
Bill had all of us go in a body down to the grave to visit Pa. He brought along a bag of cherries and gave each of us a cherry, had us eat it, and then throw the pit on the grave. Every night he visited Pa at the house here he would bring Pa a bag of cherries and he would enjoy them while watching the Boston Red Sox, and sometimes the Red Sox/Yankee games. He use to enjoy seeing Bill come in the door with the bag of cherries. It was a great tribute to Pa's memory. Thanks Bill.
We had a tour of the NWS out of Taunton Mass, put on by Eleanor (who now along with her husband Dean are full Weatherfun members, and we hope that they will join us next year for our 2009 reunion). Eleanor put on a great demonstration and a tour of the NWS out of Taunton Mass. Thanks Eleanor for the great tour and visit. We all enjoyed it very much.
We are already working on next year's 2009 WEATHERFUN FAMILY REUNION. We already have two events etched in stone, so we have a great start on next year's reunion, so why not tell your boss that you need the second week of July off so that you can head Northeast for a grand reunion. I promise to make it the best one yet. Plan on leaving your diet home, and get ready for some great visits, and this year with the help of Channel 12, who I am now a weather spotter for hopefully a tour of their studio and even a peak into this great weather truck that they have. So, as the man says on TV COME ON DOWN.
Keep in mind that we are now in the hurricane season, and please take all precautions for life and property. Make sure you have provisions for your family, pets, and property. Out peak season does not come until the end of August, early September, so we have a ways to go yet. But please take precautions now for life and property.
Remember this is your news letter and if you have a weather related article that you would like to see in this news letter why not send it to Bill or me and we will see to it that it appears in a future newsletter.
Have a great summer, stay safe and keep an eye to the sky.
